CAOF smallholder farmers trained on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Practices

The Coalition through its member organizations with the support of Christian Aid has trained over 3,500 small holders on how to use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Practices to control pest on their farms. Farmers were drawn from various communities in the Northern and Upper East Regions of Ghana. Project officers from various member organizations used a standard manual developed at the CAOF secretariat to trained these farmers with support from the CAOF Coordinator. At the end of the training sessions farmers were able to learn new and environmental friendly ways of dealing with pest on their farms. Most of the farmers expressed delight saying the training will help them fight the pest menace on their farms without using chemical pesticides. They also expressed the view that it will help them save cost and maximize profits.
