Demonstration of dry season organic farming in Beo Tankoo

The people of Beo Tankoo and Beo Nayire both in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region of Ghana have undergone some Good Organic Agricultural Farming Practices and how to grow organic crops in the dry season. These smallholder farmers had a project that dug two wells and mechanized them for dry season farming but these mechanized wells remain unused due to lack of knowledge and experience in dry season farming practices. A local NGO, Tumam Ghana after Joining CAOF in 2016 was able to partner CAOF and Christian Aid to provide various trainings on organic agriculture practices and dry season gardening. These two communities are now entering their third season of dry season farming and the benefits are so much.
